Tune up – Day 12

Godly Wisdom

Godly wisdom—internal reasoning, pictures, and words that come from God’s Word and/or the Holy Spirit that is sealed in the believer.

Ephesians 1:13 NAB – “In him you also, who have heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and have believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit.”

The Word of God’s wisdom must reside in your human spirit and also in your brain in order for you to live the abundant life God intends. The brain is involved in every single thing you do—how you think, how you feel, how you act, and how you interact with others. It is the instrument God gave you so that you can be in touch, to make contact with the world. God is amazing! The brain is a wonder of His creation and wisdom.

Your brain is made of approximately 100 billion nerve cells called neurons, which have 500 trillion connections. Neurons have the amazing ability to gather and transmit electrochemical messages. These messages give you thoughts, which give you feelings that move you toward or away.

The purpose of God’s wisdom (God’s think) is to give us life and give us life abundantly. Jesus is our wisdom!

1 Corinthians 2:16 RSV – “. . . we have the mind of Christ.”

James 3:17 NASB – “But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy.”

Galatians 5:22-23 NASB – “But the fruit of Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control . . . .”

To be “fruit” means that it is ready to be consumed by the believer. To consume the think of God means it is a living part of us. Transformation is possible because we are designed by God with the ability to have authority over what is in our brain.

1 Corinthians 2:6-7 NKJV – “We speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age [world] . . . we speak the wisdom of God.”

Decide what you want in your brain, practice doing the truth, and you will be able to stand against the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, and the boastful pride of life.

Training Your Brain Exercise – Ears to Hear and Eyes to See

Today notice the words and the visuals that pop into your mind. If it helps, write them down in your journal. When you develop ears to hear and eyes to see, you can be objective over these thoughts (words and visuals). Once you develop the ability to be objective, you can take thoughts and lead them to truth or destroy them.

It is your brain; decide what you will allow and what you will not allow to reside in you. Pray right now and ask God to give you ears to hear and eyes to see. Make your commitment to God and He will give you wisdom that comes from above.
