Lust of the Eyes

The world’s system is constantly sending messages to a receptive antenna, a very specific part of the mind (brain), which is the flesh (Romans 8:6-8). This flesh brain, known as the reptilian brain, can only hear, see, smell, taste, touch, and feel the fleshly stuff of the world’s system, which is the law of sin and death that comes into and establishes in the brain from the world.

You must decide to train this part of your brain; teach your brain what YOU want. Decide (practice) ahead of time to add to your faith moral excellence (2 Peter 1:5 NASB). For example, men need to decide to see older women as mothers and younger woman as sisters in all purity. Likewise, women need to decide to dress in all modesty (1 Timothy 2:9 NASB). Decide (practice) ahead of time to put on the mind of Christ regarding the meaning of messages that come from the world system (law of sin and death). Examine the following graphic—The Law of Sin and Death.

Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply . . . 2 Peter 1:3

Training Your Brain Exercise – Consider the Abundant Life

We all have learned to lie, exaggerate, and manipulate in order to receive fleshly pleasures instead of trusting and allowing God to give the precious fruit of the Spirit, which comes as a harvest through time. Do not trade the abundant life for momentary pleasure. Today consider how God desires you to live—to have life in abundance now and forever. Move toward the truth and away from the lies about sex. Practice and practice some more; it will become you. Think about it today!

Decide (practice as a habit of life) to add to your faith moral excellence. Men, practice seeing older women as mothers and younger woman as sisters in all purity. Don’t wait! Teach your brain the truth.

Decide (practice) ahead of time to put on the mind of Christ regarding the meaning of messages that come from the world’s system. Pay attention to what you hear externally and internally!
