Tune up – Day 19

Let Truth Prevail

I was thinking, and we do our best thinking when we are really thinking. Practice doing the truth as a habit of life. You must decide to train your brain! You are fooling yourself if you think you don’t have to practice doing the truth or that you can wait for the war between the flesh and the spirit to start. The flesh is not waiting to fight.

In this war, the truth prevails. There is no war when you see, hear, and feel the truth. The flesh is dead. So practice the truth as a habit of life; see older women as mothers and younger women as sisters, in all purity (1 Timothy 5:2). Do this mindfully, purposely, and objectively. Don’t wait! Teach your brain what you want it to do! Think with the mind of Christ. Look for the opportunity to do the truth.

Training Your Brain Exercise – Practice

Commit to practice 10 times a day! Pick a determined goal: set your mind every day, 10 times a day for one week. Look for beautiful and plain women; see them as mothers and sisters who are precious in the eyes of your God! They are everywhere. They are in our homes, at the mall, on TV, in movies, and in magazines—God’s children everywhere! You do not have the right to see God’s beauty with the eyes of lust. There is nothing wrong with noticing beauty. Lusting after it is missing the mark!

Think objectively about the ugly pictures that are stored in your brain. Bring them to mind, be objective. Turn them to glass and smash them or make them out of paper, light them on fire, and see them burn. Do this technique 10 times a day for one week! At the same time that you destroy the vile picture, with an auditory, internal voice say forcefully, “I will NOT allow this in my brain! You do what I say in JESUS’ NAME!” Practice, do it right now! Don’t wait; take the offensive in this war.

Train your brain in partnership with the power of the Holy Spirit!
