Tune up – Day 6

Dwell on These Things

What you think about matters. We know that thoughts are made of electromagnetic waves. Yes, what you think about matters. It is important for you to know that you are responsible for what you think. God is consistently telling us to decide; we are to choose to dwell on thoughts that give us health and produce life.

Think about it!

Philippians 4:8-9 NASB – “Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.
Whatever is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, of good repute, excellent, and praise worthy—dwell on!  Practice these things!”

“Dwell” is the Greek word logizomai. The definition is in the sense of an account or reckoning, to reckon, to consider, dwell, maintain, and take into account.

“Practice” is the Greek word prasso. The definition is to do, practice, to act, and commit to do.

The two Greek words, logizomai and prasso, make it clear that you have a choice; you are to decide to keep on considering, pondering, and reckoning as a practice so that truth becomes a habit of life. This, in turn, allows you to dominate the flesh by the spirit–your spirit. Remember, you are the objective observer. You are to practice, purposely thinking in ways that will put healthy, positive chemistry into your brain. Decide today to practice, to make a habit of thinking upon what is TRUE, HONORABLE, PURE . . . and you will absolutely grow in your ability to dominate the flesh.

Dwell on what is true, honorable, and pure until it becomes you!

Training Your Brain Exercise – Practice

Practice 10 times today seeing women objectively as God’s children. Yes, a minimum of 10 times today! When you watch TV, walk in the mall, and when you are at work, see all women in all purity⎯practice, practice, and practice some more! You are training your brain how you want it to function. It is your brain to use, so use it! Practice seeing with the mind of Christ. Move toward what is honorable, right, pure, lovely, of good repute, excellence, and praise worthy—dwell on these things by practicing these things.  Decide!
